I was just answering your question. Some might think that context matters. As in, what happened to Pao just comes with the job while what happened to Eich was purely personal.

Objectively? Pao was criticised for her present actions while at the job, Eich because someone pointed at his past.

Best of luck to Steve, Reddit CEO looks like a risky job to have these days.

I'm not sure all clients will behave as you are experiencing. But in any case: > if no response in ~30 seconds, try the second That is not HA. Most people will not wait 30 seconds for a page to load. If your business looses money wi

Meh, most people will never notice it, and if for someone is an issue, you can continue to develop using 1.4 locally until 1.6 comes in 6 months.

2x is still means much faster than C++. Go has an strict release cycle[0] and at some point you have to make the switch if you want a compiler easier to develop. I'm sure it'll get much better soon. https://github.com&#

I'm not familiar with disruptor, but if you want an alternative to buffered channels maybe mangos[0] would interest you, it supports inproc and IPC among other transports. [0] https://github.com/gdamore/mangos

Obviously the new GC and GOMAXPROCS take the spotlight, I was just surprised about the new trace function.

With the new scheduler I believe this is much less of an issue. It is huge though because there might be a bunch of data races in the wild that were hidden until now and are about to see the light of day. Hopefully most people test with -ra

Have they implemented IP failover already? I haven't heard anything. Having your own LB without being able to fail over the IP is not HA. If the LB does down so does your business.

Nice to see Plan 9 making a bit of a comeback these days (at least in HN). I would certainly be glad if some of the ideas behind it became more popular today.

The data is immutable, not the database itself, meaning that you create entries but not modify them. The same way you can not modify a constant after you create it. "Immutable data database" would sound a bit redundant.
