Love LaTeX but it gets harder to justify because of the faff in processing the files across multiple systems. Pdftex, xetex, xelatex, blah blah blah, adding fonts, packages galore... Recently: I've managed to "stablize" a Mav

There’s a Trabant Museum and nearby theme park in Berlin - I may be using these terms a tad loosely - and there’s one around the corner parked in front of an art gallery and it is occasionally resprayed and redesigned according to the whims

The non-Ms are beautifully made and worth every penny (eg Q2, SL) but the Ms are beautifully made terrible technology - specifically the rangefinder: they’re delicate, need frequent servicing and can only focus down to 0.7m, so the advent o

Yeah, ETIAS has been discussed since Brexit in 2016, I worked for the UK Home Office just after that period and “tit-for-tat” is a lazy and naive response to the issues around human trafficking and other concerns we were trying to address

I think this is because of the sketchy way in which passports for various tax havens, Caribbean countries, etc (not mutually exclusive) have been sold and bought and those passports allowed visa-free access to the EU. The corruption in thos

The precision to align the sensor doesn’t appear to be present. In any case, the camera body isn’t where the magic is, and old lenses can be fitted to new bodies in a crazy number of permutations these days. I only today picked up a Contax

I wish more social media companies would give up on the EU, it's so peaceful here. I've boxed myself into will-follow-back corner on Twitter so every time I open it I feel like one of the chimps at the beginning of 28 Days Later w

I see the point, but a) Canon make much more than cameras or photo-related, unlike say Nikon, and a bigger market means more players overall. There’s as many manufacturers making pro-level kit now as I recall from the 1980s, and somebody’s
