I would recommend starting with http://cgcookie.com/blender/get-started-with-blender/ When starting from zero I don't think there exists any Blender tutorials that can really compete.

If you considered using FTP to share files, why didn't you consider HTTP? No one can argue against that it's extremely well supported on the client-side and pushing files to a server (with ssh for example) or hosting a small http-server loc

Reports with undefined intervals and the only "requirement" is the title? That's easy, shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. Empty reports with just a title are really friendly for the author and reader both.

There is nothing wrong with the definition syntax. The only problem I have with those are the "namespace-pollution" problem where you must have them in a separate module to isolate field names (which is kind of a small issue to me). What I
