I am very surprised to hear the unit testing statistic. What kind of unholy edge cases would JSON parsing require to make it necessary to cover 122 million variations?

I think these days it might be wiser to use r-polars, in the very least because it has more available documentation around it.

Taking the well-being of abstract concepts like a country over the well-being of concrete individuals is a slippery road towards a particularly unappealing version of collectivism. Me emigrating from Eastern to Western Europe was among the

This feels like a scripting companion to Rust with Python-like syntax, nice one. I definitely could see it being using as a Lua replacement in embedded contexts.

I would imagine that a person who is seriously concerned about any of that would just install a standalone version of ruff. Given the existence of uvx, this addition seems like feature creep to me.

This would have been a fair point had Scala 3 supported Python's packages and was compatible with Python's tooling. At the very least until Mojo is mature and open-sourced, there are simply no alternatives to pouring time and effo

The cost of your dogmatic preference is your Python experience being more miserable than it should be. Astral's ruff and uv are widely adopted for a good reason, and there is no reason to think that ty will come any different.

This is actually less of an issue for technically inclined folks, since we can get our initial fix from the darknet using cryptocurrency, and then getting more consistent at planning and sticking to routine becomes cognitively easier. This

Weird that they've switched from Qt for RStudio to being a VSCode fork with Positron. RStudio was so loved precisely because it was lightweight and performant, which just isn't a possibility with something like VSCode.

By the look of it, the feeling I get is that a decent and convenient syntax proposal has been bikeshedded into rejection. Some particular form of keyword arguments at invocation would definitely make quite a few of my scripts more readable.

When it comes to modern Python, the only thing that can make it not production-ready is it being slow. Given that people in machine learning are using Python as a glue language for AI/ML libraries, this negligibly impacts their workflo
