Many states already charge EVs and PHEVs a higher annual registration fee than ICE vehicles. I understand replacing the gas taxes, but very weird since it completely works against federal and state EV/PHEV incentives.

FasTrak has actually been surprisingly nice for me. I love the ability to add cars by license plate to an account, and being able to specify exactly when coverage starts and ends down to minute precision. Renting a car? You can add the plat

The local news is one reason I like to stream the local station on TuneIn rather than NPR's various apps. Where else do I hear local news from in this day and age?

I don't think many managers and executives enjoy their jobs because of the power they have in the organization. I think they enjoy their jobs by being proficient at their work and getting rewarded for it, like the rest of us.

In Thinking, Fast and Slow, David Kahneman writes about "peak-end rule" - people tend to rate experiences by their peak level of emotion during the experience, and by the way experiences end. My takeaway is if you want people to r

There is another element beyond explaining clearly, and that is that people tend to remember and relate to tangible examples better than abstractions. Metaphors are great memory devices even for people who are not dumb or uneducated.

Correct. I don't see this as different than content farms that generate low-quality webpages to monetize with ads. I think the real issue is that online advertising platforms are allowing this to happen and charging advertisers for it

This article gives a prognosis of AI that does not destroy civilization but makes civilization better. It is much more comforting than proposals to try to limit AI in my opinion.

People keep saying Uber is burning cash, but their core business model is sound: $5 per hour per driver goes to Uber Assume 80,000 drivers (half of # U.S. Uber drivers) drive 8 hours a day, 7 days a week 52 weeks in a year 5x8x80000x7x52=$1
