Most powder models have O(n^2) interactions per step, so it's nontrivial to approximate it in O(n log n) while keeping it just as fun, especially when pushing the models to their limits.

Ah yes, the solution to bias: Hide everyone's faces. That'll teach everyone to celebrate our differences.

KaTeX supports server-side Node rendering pretty easily. https://katex.org/docs/node.html Maybe MathJax does too, but I haven't checked. I use this on https://vcvrack.com/manual/DSP to parse

You could just square your quantity before applying the 1.5 factor. Instead of "Our shuttle is safe up to 150% of the required speed!" design for "safe up to 150% of the required kinetic energy (1/2 m v^2)". Then yo

My sleep schedule has a ~25 hour period, so I'd actually use this. :) Been doing it for 20+ years. Most of 2021 I've awakened around 07:00 MTC. It's 10:27 as I write this, so I've been awake for about 3 (Mars) hours. ht

Why in the world do we need 3 kbps audio for voice? It's so hard to hear people speaking over mobile phones. Why don't we use 32-64 kbps 48 kHz for all voice communication? GSM CSD offers 9-14 kbps down/up, 3G offers 384 kbps

I'm always curious why the default behavior of many server frameworks exposes so much information. I think it should just drop the connection by default for this error.

Bitcoin is only good for large transactions, but there are 1000000 cryptocurrencies that solve this problem such as BCH, USDT, and LTC. Use one of them.

Oh sure, for donations that's a lot. A good rule of thumb is asking for donations returns 1-10% compared to selling software for a fixed price. So the game perhaps could have brought $70-700k. Highly dependent on the type of software i

I've had a thought in the back of my mind to write a replacement/alternative for the GTK file picker for years. I've probably spent at least a day total using it throughout my life, so it would make sense to spend a few days

I like the idea of an IDE distinguishing between scope types with colors, lines, or rectangles. Just this week I had to scroll up a few pages of C++ to check how deep a line is in scope. It would have been useful to see that the scope was:

This looks really cool, but I can't get it to work. Clicking the Dropbox button when it says "Click Dropbox button to load content" doesn't do anything. Nothing printed to web console, or anything happening in the UI.

Are you saying that elderly prefer to see their children die first or themselves? We're not debating whether they want to die or not, that's obvious. We're debating whether they value their lives more than their children or c

The older I get, the less I value the rest of my life. So it's fair to say that younger deaths are worse than older deaths on a society scale.

No, -0.f is more interesting than 4.1045857301e23f. It's more interesting because it's more likely to fail a test where others don't.

Oh, you mean using analyzing software. Yeah, I've never had a use for that. On the other hand, you could make my function append to a string and then return the string. Then it wouldn't have side effects so it would be analyzable.

How would you define the `printMessage` function? The `pet` object doesn't have context about `staff`, and the `filter` function is filtering staff, not pets. It could return staff that have both cats and dogs, so it would incorrectly

Wait a second, you left out the most important part: What's in the `log(...)` function? How do you get the name of the pet and the name of the staff in that line if they have the same accessor `.name`? That's my point. The fact th

What's wrong with functions? A function `printCatsBelongingToStaff()` is much easier to read than a line of functional code. I don't understand what you mean by "analyzed much better" and "neat safety guarantees&quo
