White-balancing is a function f(R, G, B, T_from, T_to) -> (R, G, B) which relies on the model of blackbody radiation and a model of the wavelength distribution definitions behind the (R, G, B) values, i.e. the particular color s

I see your point about mobile testing. (I don't do mobile work, so I didn't think of it.)

It's fantastic that it works with localhost (and I assume 127.0.0.1?), and it's fantastic that it doesn't work with anything else. This is the best middleground.

Sliding your fingers on glass/plastic has roughly just one primitive analog in the real-world: dragging paper on a flat surface. Scrolling a virtual map or zoomed-in digital photo is a rare application of that. Everything else that tou

I was pointing out that your quote was incomplete and cannot be used to support your point. Being visited by law enforcement does not imply that you have committed a crime.

You omitted the important part: "...with the intent that the teaching, demonstration, or information be used for, or in furtherance of, an activity that constitutes a Federal crime of violence." The teaching alone is legal. The in

Most Constitution-respecting Americans will disagree. Committing a crime is not OK. Conveying information for learning is always OK.

I believe you can actually compute the sunrise time of a location/day that doesn't have a sunrise, and it would be just a complex number (root of some analytic function).

Haha, in the case of fingerprint drivers, this really tells how 1) useless and 2) locked-down that hardware is, given how little has been done by free/open-source software developers.

This is also the facepalm moment for me. Yeah, let's just ask Google to make it an independent nonprofit foundation, because they are 100% certain to say yes. If this is the point of the whole article, I'd have to concede that I f

This is awesome, thanks! My learning style is to read summaries of things and then go deeper where I feel like. I'm not a fan of reading 20 pages of proofs that don't teach me anything new, only to reach half a page that takes me

Isn't AMP blatant copyright infringement? If so, how does a website owner demand the infringement to be taken down?

Cool, I think this explains it. What crytographic hashes are available that take a limited stream of bits over time and generate an arbitrary number of bits when requested?

I imagine this approach would be insecure because an attacker could easily change the distribution from miles away. And I don't think it solves the problem of radio noise being time-dependent random variables.
