Disclaimer, I'm a regular horn tooter for F# but imho this is such a perfect case for the language. It has similar line density to python, but with static type inference. Admittedly you will have to be explicit about using mutables, bu

I think everyone downvoted this because it is advertised as currency, but I think this person actually hit the nail on the head. Bitcoin does have value, but not as a currency because it doesn't actually inflate enough to make it bad t

I think this comment shouldn't be downvoted because it's a common misunderstanding rooted in how unintuitive it is that water is so good at blocking radiation.

I think something that consistently deflates is already an absurdly flawed currency. It's not exactly an exchange medium if it's better to hold on to it than do something meaningful with it.

Most westerners don't get cancer, and most westerners don't get Alzheimers, yet most westerners consume all the things you mentioned. Perhaps the problem isn't as simple as consuming the right things.

There's another explanation, that they have the capacity to drive price of entry up. That they have enough money saved that they can undercut their competitors and snuff them out before they can gain any market share. So this is true w

No, it's instance by instance. You will see some amount of cooperation, but it's not enforced by any means just a cultural norm created by the twitter refugees to mastodon. GnuSocial has a bit of a libertarian bent, Mastodon insta

You can call it freedom, others call it chaos. The important thing is that you have a choice. Some servers are judicious with who they federate with, others are very open, and I think it's good that you can choose.
