Many times what happens is that the "within" innovation is not so much innovation in itself, but the innovation is including aspects that were done by the avant-garde decades before, into a popular context. avant-garde composers w

I think importance can be recognized without appealing to the average Bad Bunny listener. I care about the music, people should be more open to hearing challenging music. That doesn't necessarily mean "the mainstream", that

I'd not consider just intonation to be microtonality. I guess it technically is? But to me it conveys something different. For example, there's period performances of Bach pieces played in harpsichords tuned in just intonation. I&

is it a prejudice when a very common "critique" is "I didn't get it"? A lot of people want something concrete to get. They became used to a very narrow set of structures and expectations. They think they getting it

If you read some reactions and reviews for music from Beethoven, Wagner, Mahler, in their time, it is not much different than someone now hearing contemporary classical music.

Why does the mainstream get invoked in these types of arguments when no one called them? Who cares? There's hundreds upon hundreds of classical composers who didn't really survive into popularity who wrote standard good quality mu

Littering is actually a terrible analogy. First of all, a place becomes littered, everyone there is affected. Piracy only hypothetically harms a select few who probably make more money you can imagine. Furthermore, in a world where everyone

You made the case of "knowingly taking something", that in the knowing that it was "unethically" obtained, there's wrong doing. However I'd posit that media businesses "knowingly get into the business wher

I had issues with audio production, but not anymore. I think this "not anymore" is the key takeaway. It may or may not be ready for everyone right now but it keeps improving.

I have visited modern art museums. I have seen similar "low effort" pieces among a wide catalogue of high effort ones. It is evident that real artists are very prolific and are not lazy or anything like that, that was not implying

It took me a while to switch to Krita, because I used to think it was mainly for painting/illustrating. It took me being unbearably frustrated with Gimp's UI to give Krita a go for basic editing. Never looked back.
