all good points. i also think what really pushes a lot of developers to do open source, and bear with me for the unpopular opinion--is ego. they love having followers, and a voice on twitter with some open source badge on their profile page

i see your point, but it also brings about something like where certain people see quality degrading, and go off to make their own subreddit/community like /r/truereddit or /r/truetruereddit, etc. it's an inter

depends on how you look at bust years. i would argue that 2009 and 2010 still fall into the social network bubble. i would probably combine 2007-2015 into one long excitement period transitioning from social networks to iphone apps to block

can't you do far worse if you're actually plugging in and running code from a flash drive on someone's computer?

i've read that for pilots, the 737 is better and more manual (if the need arises to fix things or do overrides) compared to the airbus a320 which is a bit newer and has more electronics and sort of does a lot of things for you, but als

i understand the point -- that SF is ludicrously expensive. however that point is muddled when you see the budget breakdown. show me a reasonable budget where youre not spending 6K a year on CLOTHES and then i'll be better suited to ar

5.5K on their living (mortgage + property tax) eats all of their income. not surprised. 800$ a month car payment. 2100$ a month on food...i feel like if they at the very least tried to be somewhat frugal, they can probably save a ton. this

i'm not sure what you're arguing here. if you have a complicated codebase you write tests so that when you add other code, you have a bit more confidence that you're not breaking things. furthermore, if a new person joins a t
