There's all these other "frameworks" on top of node you can use to emulate rails, of which Express is the most popular. But I am talking in terms of tools to use when I'm building a database backed REST app. Node.js was

Rails took off among startups because it made it so much more efficient to iterate on design, but node.js is nothing like that. I actually tried node.js for a while and came back to rails because it's simply not convenient enough. Like

I actually gave up on jS + html5 to build apps. Do you know why? The main selling point was "It's cross platform!", but with iOS7 and Android UI diverging away from each other, this "cross platform" thing is not rea

I understand, and I didn't mean to discredit the site itself. I was just pointing out the weird upvote behavior here. It would have been very useful and clever idea back then but why is it #1 today? is what I don't understand

Alright, this website basically turns https://github.com/mojombo into http://resume.github.io/?mojombo , which is uglier than the original and doesn't even add anything new. How did this get 22 points

What you say is all true. And what I say is true also. You're just talking from Facebook's point of view, and i'm talking from investors' point of view, which is what the article is talking about. As I also mentioned, it

People who are saying stuff like patent doesn't mean anything as long as you have good community and network effect don't know what is going on here. Facebook owns a patent for activity feed. Theoretically Facebook can sue Twitter

The reason Craigslist can't be beaten easily is because it makes less money, just like how Wikipedia can't be beaten easily because it's non-profit. Twitter as a for profit company can't afford to make less money.

I've lived both in SF and NY, and NY significantly has more. Not saying SF has bad food, it does, but it pales in comparison to NY. Of course--that is--excluding Burritos. There's nothing smug about saying the truth.

good idea in theory, but the search is "ridiculously" slow. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't work after the first search. Also, you're using the term "semantic" wrong.

People have different preferences when it comes to coding styles. There are some that are subjective (balance between clarity vs. simplicity), and there are idiotic styles such as !Boolean.FALSE.equals(aBoolean), or if (((((a == true) == t
