Am in the midst of shipping a medium sized game in Unity and I can confirm your takes are correct/relevant today. Unity is incredibly frustrating to me, and I would really aggressively challenge the notion that Unity is aimed at any so

Isn't phoenix meant to remove the JS dependency on FE dev? (Not arguing with any of your points btw, JS is matter-of-factly more popular and pragmatic).

You kinda skipped the relevant part of my question. Does arguing on the internet with Java fans increase Go's usage at hypothetical person's work?

I don't agree. My argument is not that developers shouldn't have opinions, or that developers shouldn't try to improve languages (in the ways any individual developer thinks any individual language should be improved). My gri

In my experience Compilation speed is an excellent bikeshed that lots of developers complain about if they're evaluating a language. It's an easy thing to say "Well the compilation speed" as a reason to discount a langua

I really hate the wave of language "competition" and contention. Go is a language that allows lots of developers to get great work done. So is Node.js, so is Haskell, so is Rust, so is Java. The list goes on. If you find a thing y

I think every dev should try to build a substantial codebase without any frameworks or libraries. You have to go way way beyond the "Hello, world" concept in whatever you're trying to build, ie if you're building a REST

If the author of Mint sites Elm as an inspiration, it might be worthwhile to explain the ways Mint differs from Elm? It seems like, if the things Mint offers are things a dev is interested in, they'd be better off using Elm, as I would
