I would love to understand his motives, because my first impression is not a positive one. This is not freedom-loving behavior of a patriotic US citizen.

It is not always immediately obvious when someone is wearing a pair versus normal glasses. Certainly not from any real distance.

Recently bought a Sovol SV08 printer. It comes with open source binaries, but there is no source code. Turns out they are a known to be violating the GPL. Looks like it can be rebuilt from other sources, so I have started to put together

Yeah, most modern scarcity is artificially induced by producers, who will limit their supply to ensure their margins stay healthy. However, land is one case where they aren’t making more of it. So, you are both right?

One hundred years ago when humans started pumping oil out of the ground and burning it, nobody cared about it. Should a century of infrastructure investment be thrown away because cooking the planet has recently become fashionable to hate?

Some of Schneider Electric’s software is a house of cards. Source: I maintained some systems for them a few years back. Never will they ever get my money again for anything. To wit, I miss the days when APC was a brand that I could trust.

Wow. I’d kill for even a guy running my hardware tests. Most of my jobs barely seem to leave time to write the code, before it needs to be scraped off my monitor and poured into the customer’s systems. The ones like you describe with ac

Not just HOAs. Talk grass allows insects and vermin to move more freely. In cities, this contributes to their spread, so some places have city-wide ordinances that require lawn maintenance.

Small farmer here: it’s true. Supermarket food is horrible in terms of nutrition and taste, but it’s laden with literal shit too. For example, milk is pasteurized because dairies are too lazy careless to keep literal shit out of the milk.

No, you’re wrong. I think everyone should be forced to remote work, and all offices should be closed forever. … See how it feels to have someone make absolute claims that tell you how to live your life?

FWIW, they put a header in the message that you can spot from a thousand miles away. That is how they get past the filters. I used to work for a company y that used them, and this trick was passed around between engineers as a way to tell.

To be fair, the problems you describe existed before AI, though I concede it has gotten worse. What baffles me is why anyone would think it a good idea to post and host these images? What’s that upside?

Great example of a technical solution for a real world problem… which simply won’t work as intended. Aside from the obvious use as a tool of repression, the real problem will be one of adoption: the only way everyone will adopt this is wit
