A Scanner Darkly is my favorite book of his (that I've read so far). I think because it's a bit longer than most so there's more time to develop characters. It's got such a sad and interesting tone.

It certainly is a more complex issue than some commenters are making it out to be. I think these things need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. I think both the intent of the author and the manner of presentation are important. With th

Seriously, every time I make a long recipe I wonder how that became the standard. It's not like everyone is on a cooking show where they lay out all the ingredients in the right quantities before they start cooking.

It might be hard, but I think you've overstated the dangers of overcentralizing here. If slack is down for two hours, what's the worst that could happen? Everyone works on something on their own and sends an email or uses one of 5

I think hypocrisy is inevitable for a couple of reasons. 1) In theory, people go to church because they want to improve, not because they are already perfect. It's not hypocritical to make mistakes. 2) Hypocrisy is everywhere. No one r

Well I don't think it has to be taken so literally. 1% of the news is actual new info that you should know, the other 99% is repetition, opinion, speculation, propaganda, etc. You can check the news once a day from a reasonably neautal

Yes, Ubuntu/Debian are very conservative with their updates. Especially if you're on an LTS release, so you're unlikely to have something break from an upgrade like that. Brew tends to be very up-to-date.
