I guess it depends on what level of conspiracy we're talking about. The parent comment referred to the Mandela effect, so that's what I was thinking about. Mandela effect, flat earth, anti-vax, Q-anon, reptilians, bigfoot, there&#

I would argue that believing in one conspiracy theory makes you much more susceptible to others, because they all require a flawed type of logic. Conspiracy theorists overlook large bodies of evidence and laser-focus on tiny contradictions

Sure, you can write a blog post for any reason, but writing about something you are not interested in is probably not going to be interesting. Like when teenagers talk about why one genre of music is better than another. It boils down to op

You and the author are both making the mistake of generalizing games as boring based on your specific tastes. Unlike the author, I dislike online games, I want a more controlled experience. Unlike you, I dislike plot-driven games. I can

I definitely remember a TV ad where someone hoses out their car after going to the beach. Unfortunately I don't remember the make/model and Google isn't turning anything up. I wonder if people incorrectly associated that with

That's a very small minority of trolls. Most of them are just regular immature and uninformed people who have been taught by the internet to interact in bad faith.

"Don't feed the trolls" was an important rule in old message boards that seems to have been lost in modern social media.

I agree with this, but in spaces where bad faith is the predominant form of communication, you'll probably be accused of being a centrist for not falling exactly in line.

You've convinced me to try ebay again. It's gotten so tiresome trying to identify whether or not you're buying garbage on Amazon. I put plenty of time into it and I still get burned occasionally.

I think that's a big part. The standard library isn't great, and progress is tied to browsers. Additionally, tiny packages became the norm early on. Is even, is odd, is negative zero, left pad, etc. I don't know all the reaso

Cool, I'm glad there's precedent for it. I'm not opposed to adding guardrails as the post suggests, but it feels like a band-aid on much deeper problem.

I think for the average person, having kids might be the best way to have a positive impact on the world. Something like selling a company sounds like a bigger deal, but in 10, 30, 50 years, what will it matter? Some money is exchanged and
