vacri's comment made me chuckle. I do not understand why someone thinks it is an acceptable practice to force the replacement of adequate hardware due to the lack of software updates. When security should be a concern in this ecosystem

To make matters even worse, the ones that did have adequate RAM suffered from those terrible 8/16GB SSD drives. Heck, I bet even my 32GB SDHC card is faster than those drives were.

This is what I'm getting at. Being able to provide the throughput needed is awesome, but latency and jitter can be real concern.

I actually haven't heard a great deal of negative for HE as a whole, but mainly some localized spots. In hindsight, it might have been a bit too much of a generalization.

I can't really speak for that area. But if I chose out of three you listed, it would be L3. A close friend of mine spent years managing the network of a smaller ISP in the northeast using both Cogent/HE for their eyeball network,

Dear god, they chose the two cheapest upstream providers on the market [1]. It's a shame they didn't pick up a higher quality carrier to handle the majority of their traffic. [1] http://bgp.he.net/AS394141#_asinfo

It would be interesting to see the numbers. At least here in western NYS, I see many lower income people needing to take public transportation due to the lack of a vehicle. Thus, increasing their travel time considerably.

Is this the primary force behind a change such as this? After watching the documentary called 'Life and Debt', I found the idea of "free trade" in poorer countries to be very different than i would have first thought. It

I agree with the comments below. It is not about resisting change. It is about making that change based on your own thoughts and observations, and to not let the notions of others solely guide your path.

I have always felt that this issue has been overcomplicated. It seems what this really stems from is the classic ISP business model. From a pure network design standpoint, nearly every network has an uplink that is not large enough to susta

This could also be stated in more fundamental terms as 'the SSID is identical across all BSSIDs of an ESS'.

Are you sure about that? I just checked my wireless controller to verify my thought process, and each time I switched wireless profiles (all of which are saved on my device) the 802.1x auth(EAPOL) process is used. I'm a little rusty on

I do agree with you that 802.11 security is lacking, but it's not always as straight forward as you make it out to be. It's early and I may be forgetting something....but assuming their home network isn't an open network, how

I saw so many people complaining about how this would increase taxes. Yet, the full details of the ruling had yet to be seen by the public. Now they can eat their words. 37. "Nor will our actions result in the imposition of any new fed

As of this time last year, they were slowly migrating from a P2P platform, to only using centralized servers. However, I do not see much information on this topic other than what was posted nearly a year ago.
