If the market otherwise can make other cassette players work, This looks like a Sony problem than a general problem.

Actually done a good job - talks about dithering, perspective correct mapping and the artifacts seen in the PS1 era etc. Pretty good start. Add more lighting and shadows to the game before that dithering pass and then see how far you can pu

This was a legit case for the students, who suffered the most here. Better systems need to exist, including parametric computer testing and same day results - thereby making re-examinations simpler for the affected students. I am also aware

Well, glad you went over the whole thread, especially purveying what is happening out there. The development cost for those not under capture is really as asymmetrically low as it gets.

Hey, I'm on this one too. Nothing stays forever one way. You all find me on the other ones, add me there and give me a reason to post to a wider audience. I'm on LinkedIn too ... most people won't even engage the same way the

This is one of those things where I wish navigation were easier on X. Just check the tweets it replies to and the tweets that reference it. I've updated it, so hope it helps.

Necessarily, better data is what we need, more importantly, better collaboration and better specialization at all. While the title is a bit misleading and clickbait-y, the message is decent. I disagree with the way that big models are train

I'm not an AI skeptic but I hate the hype. Especially throwing compute for the sake of it. I do alt inference prototypes and got much farther than I had hoped to. So indeed, any investor in AI should read deep and question hype and fro

Move billions of dollars != help society in any meaningful way. In fact many of the cited papers have been considered extremely harmful to society.

I recently decided to build and run my own training free inference engine... and it worked. It's called TinyToT: https://github.com/guilt/TinyToT You basically get a LLM without any training/RL here. See: ht

Nope. In fact, people are now very very aware, very quickly. It is no more possible to have arbitrage on a society you are committed to, because they are monitoring you as much as you are monitoring them.

I'm going to say this that we're not even close to the limits of what actually needs to be accomplished so at some point, memory will start needing better tiering for inference some day ....

JXL is great on a variety of images with great PSNR across the board. Surprised it took browsers a good long time to ship it (removed and brought it back) You can get way better perceptual compression at much much tinier sizes though. This
