I found it awkward to inject perl-like $variables in the middle of a Python notebook. The association with anything-XML also is a downer personally for me, its also a goodbye to lightweight. Yup, this maybe a superficial observation, but th

YOLO-level development is a slippery slope... We had a case where 2 backends from 2 teams needed to interoperate.. to support a much talked-up UI/functional feature that was supposed to make our product standout from rivals. What was i

I dreaded SOAP, and how it seemed to spawn an industry . I dreaded having to answer SOAP related questions in job interviews, but more than that I dreaded using any form of SOAP in my day-to-day work. Its nice our industry consigns certain

I think an architect is a technical , hands-on job, albeit a role that bridges both engineering and strategy/management. Architects should spend some time coding , maybe 25% of their time. I feel without doing some coding, you'r

Some of his points are spot on . Namely, framework magic (eg. Django's full of them, as are other Frameworks), as opposed to explicit calls.

There are people who are challenged , in their writing ability, but come up with new ideas. I can't name one off the top of my head, but I think the capitalistic world of startup companies could yield many examples of inventions. To m

The hammer analogy seems overdone. The framework , lets say , caters to 60% of your needs (being cautious here). OTOH, If your needs are pretty specific, and you go minimalistic, then you build 60% of your functionality by hand. Yes, code

I would prefer Terraform. I can transfer those skills to GCP, or Azure or something else. CloudFormation is probably advantageous if your infrastructure is 100% AWS..

I like this. AWS feels like a proprietary mainframe system (will get downvoted for saying this). Anytime a majority of developer job postings mention a specific product/company certifications, (think PMP, or Microsoft developer certs)

A lot of people in the Cybersecurity industry are solely motivated by money. This is an egregious case. In milder cases, I've seen US SAS Cybersecurity providers being casual about customer protection, only caring if it starts hitting
