While I agree that standing on a foreign street anywhere on the planet is a bad problem, I dont think overbooking as a problem has been addressed by anybody efficiently so far. The only mechanism that exists today is the feedback mechanism

I see the exact opposite where I come from. My kid wants to go out and play when the temperature is close to 40c (which is normal BTW). I think kids just adapt to the weather and we just get old!
