I found this reference for Hershey Vector font https://paulbourke.net/dataformats/hershey/ It seems to describe a "pen" which draws the character. It is indeed pretty cool!

Have you tried for any length of time? For example, there's lots of little places where aligning keywords helps clarify code https://github.com/civboot/civlua/blob/main/ds/ds.lua#L89 Formatters

Auto formatting for work is an angel, for code you love it is the devil. Writing code that you love is like crafting it. You align subjects and data in beautiful flows of if/else or case/switch. You put multiple statements on a li

Blocking screenshots is a solution in search of a problem. How do you plan to block another phone or high definition camera taking a picture?

I wonder, is there something on the complexity curve between 8x8 bitmap and fullblown ttf with all the complexity as you've outlined? It would be nice if there were a solution which gets 90% of the value in 10% of the code.

I've built a lua-based markdown which is more sane (from a programmer's PoV) than markdown but still concise https://github.com/civboot/civlua/tree/main/cxt I'm planning on supporting synt

Talking about html rendering is very similar to a domain I've been thinking about: configs. Lua can be trivially sandboxed. Throw in a parser for acquiring metadata (dependencies) and you have a full blown config language in a few hund

it would be extremely humorous if it actually *reduced* the speed since it required loading so much more code.

If you want to see C's _true_ scripting language, check out Lua. It can be embedded in your C application, unlike Python which is the other way around (Lua is like 80KiB, Python is several MiB).

I particularly liked this bit > Not only is 0 divisible by 2, it is divisible by every power of 2, which is relevant to the binary numeral system used by computers. In this sense, 0 is the "most even" number of all. in the aren

No, the Fremen were killing Sardukars before Paul, getting good ratios to boot. Paul made them better though, no doubt about that.

Yes they used them. IIRC it was specially mentioned how _unusual_ it was to even HAVE artillery in the age of shields, much less use them. It worked on Dune because of how shields affect sandworms and are difficult to maintain in sandstorms

Oh I forgot about that. I thought they were relying on a bit of a loophole: they didn't kill (m)any humans, "just" a natural barrier, which is why they could get away with it.

IIRC they didn't "use" it -- i.e. they didn't intentionally shoot their own shield with their own lasgun. Rather they shielded a few underground areas and the Harkonen were using lasguns, something you're not suppos

There's lots of scenes of people shooting these projectiles that wiggle at the shield. You have a small amount of time to react still, but still different. Then there were missiles. There were no missiles in the Book, for obvious reaso
