I don't believe the source was talking about lifetimes but rather creating clever types regarding ownership. Some "programmer" must still construct said types. I would agree that lifetimes are taken out of "the programme

If it's just about number of years then Rust 1.0 was in May 2015, so more than 8 years. Does a "thing" need to be around for a decade+ to no longer be "hot" or "new"?

The trick could definitely work with rust since fundamentally it's "just" a hack on how the various scripts work on different systems. Actually getting the rust compiler to produce cosmopolitan binaries would likely be a heav

IIUC there is no syscall translation, it's more like there are separate libc implementations and the correct one gets selected at program start based on the OS.

The Tao Te Ching came up on HN recently and I wrote this blog as a possible starting point to adopting a lens which could help in understanding it.

Are there two versions in the same translation? You gave two versions to number 9 in this very post!

It's funny to say there is "no definite meaning" when the action proposed is non-action, the meaning defined is un-meaning, the way is wuwei.

Many would say we need fewer concepts to understand spiritual things, and Taoism is the attempt to unlearn your grasping mind. Instead we always have more. So it goes.

IIUC much of the bible's "wisdom" is taken from older root traditions. According to Mitchell's (the same Mitchell, he IS an expert in ancient Hebrew) translation of Job the entire book isn't even about a Jew but is

You inspired me to re-examine it. I wrote up the new design here: https://github.com/civboot/civlua/blob/main/zoa/README.md It's still in it's initial stages, but I'd love feedback :D

We almost always talk in bytes. When trying to reason about alignment it's bytes, when reading a serial IO from a file it's bytes. I hardly ever think in bits and when I do, I think in hex not decimal. I also like that it makes al
