Great perspective, and it's something I'm definitely keeping in mind as I think about this. In fact, I think I can draw a lot of lines (some of them quite complicated) between my current work and "potential impacts to climate

That's fascinating (and almost unbelievable) to me. Are you aware of any other books/articles/blog posts about this aspect of SV? I'm interested to learn more.

I've become a heavy user of OneNote recently as well, but I'm always in search of ways to improve my workflow. I have yet to fall into a consistent pattern of usage.

What a fascinating and delightful read. It's something that's totally alien to me, explained in a very satisfying way.

Maybe Project Oberon is widely known to others, but if not, I suggest the title be changed to something like "Project Oberon is a design for a complete desktop computer system from scratch".

I started playing with Julia in 2013, after searching for a Matlab replacement that was (according to my notes at the time) "... open (or more open than Matlab), fast, parallelizable, with good scientific/math libraries." My

The OP stated this was a test of the resilience of Starlink launches , not the system itself. In either case, surely there are better ways of testing this than letting 40 brand new spacecraft burn up.

I'm very confused about this comment - how is losing 40 operational satellites a "great way to test the resilience of Starlink launches during a predicted geomagnetic storm"? And what part of this is "great PR"?

You're right - this just comes off as snarky criticism. That wasn't my intent. I actually don't have any strong criticism about it - I was just thrown by the quote boxes at first.
