Creating 50k jobs a month ( http://mashable.com/2014/09/08/uber-ceo-techcrunch-disrupt/ ), reducing transportation costs for millions and reducing DUIs. That strikes me as "not mean". But I guess

The article wasn't horrible. While it doesn't have any takeaways as far as next steps, it does introduce the idea that things actually are complicated. It's the start of a dialogue beyond just pointing at tech companies. It b

It takes context to know that 1) It was an off the record event and 2) that previous attack pieces were levied at his company and a reporter baited him into giving quotes that would sound incendiary without any of the context (i.e. answerin

Given the article, it sounds like he was baited into giving a sound bite that could be taken out of context, by a reporter at an off the record dinner. Given the full context, it sounds like they were discussing how a company COULD deal wit

But this was from 2012, when Uber was a "fun" company. They were doing on-demand valentines and mariachi bands. It's in line with a small startup (which they were), and doesn't present any sensitive information.

Where were the allegations of putting someone's family in harms way? The initial reports read like it was a hypothetical solution to show bias in tech journalism. SL happens to work at a blog who was funded by a competitor of Uber. Rea

The gap should close over time through better training and improved tooling, but there will always be some delta. Developers would still progress through that training at different rates.

I don't get any new information about Uber from this, but it's interesting to see Lyft pursue it. It's also interesting to see what appears to be several of the top people from Lyft choose to go over to Uber. This doesn'

Lyft has apparently engaged in the exact same competitive tactics. It's allegedly how they got the majority of their supply in NYC. Lyft has also apparently done twice as many cancellations of Uber requests as uber did from Lyft. Uber

At the end of the day both are businesses. One has apparently owned that from the beginning. The other pretended not to at the beginning so they could bootstrap their company. Now Lyft is large enough that the facade is over, and it's
