My theory is that jobs that pay me well have interesting problems to solve because otherwise they'd pick a cheaper engineer. So I don't worry about how the job sounds and just assume that if it pays a lot better, it will probably

The counter-argument to that is that pay-per-use discourages usage: "every time you use it, you pay" encourages you to be mindful about how much you use. You may not binge entire series on Netflix if you have to pay for each episo

From Wikipedia it feels like maybe the court placed a guard on site to *prevent* IGR from collecting anything from the premises (there was an ongoing dispute on the property) > The fate of the abandoned site was disputed in court between

Why were people from IGR found to be at fault at all? From Wikipedia, it sounds so backwards... like, one of the owners seems to have done everything possible to recoup the radioactive material & warn of the dangers. There's not a

Also, nuclear bombs killed less people than guns did - so it's very easy to make an argument that guns are in fact more dangerous than nuclear weapons. Since US allows gun ownership, it should also allow private citizens to produce and

Nice. I think this gives a hint though - when something is very-frequently-used, people need a short name so that it doesn't stand in the way of the discussion; and due to frequency, the fact that it's an acronym doesn't matt

Has that really not happened to you or someone you know? It is (typically) eventually recovered, yes; and you can often understand how/why it happened. But it definitely happens, and requires manual human intervention for fixing. Here&

That's very cynical and not true at all (easy counter-example: France.) Also, revolutions don't need to be violent! I argue it's better if they aren't. The "axes" can be metaphorical too.

C# only sort-of-fixed this problem and it did so rather inelegantly IMO. E.g. nullable types are not options - you can't "map" them (you can't invoke Select, Where etc). It's easy to "get value or default"
