You'll see a number of stories where this is not the case. I moved my gf to Linux ~2 decades ago instead of upgrading a laptop. She never had issues I had to deal with after that.

This doesn't match reality as soon as you start working with things that actually deal with laws and taxation. If physical space was standardised, we wouldn't have 366226723 implementations of asset management systems. Also compat

Especially in infra work, some changes are 2h of planning and coordination with other teams that result in a 2 line change. One could argue if it's really coding, but you can also look at it as an extreme case with a whole gradient to

The specialisations will always exist. A good software engineer can't replace a good tester, DBA, or writer. There are specific extra skills necessary for those roles. We may not need those full skills in every environment (most compan

There are 3.5 serious open codebases of web browsers currently. Only two are full featured. It's not nothing, but it's very far from "source exists so it's easy to copy what they do".

You need to run them sandboxed in some way. Docker is one kind of solution, selinux / apparmor / sandbox-exec is another. Basically, create an environment where .env is not accessible in any way and you don't have to worry ab

In a sane election system, 20% gives a party a significant position in the government that influences the coalition and drives some of the future decisions. Just not in the two-party circus.

It's the same song as with crypto. Just as silly as then - of course many people will burn whatever is the cheapest fuel right now, even if they maybe invest in something else in the future. But the total goes up anyway.

I'm not sure if this actually needs a new system. Git commits have the message, arbitrary trailers, and note objects. If this was of source control is useful, I'm sure it could be prototyped on top of git first.

Claude doesn't have to prevent injections. Claude should make injections ineffective and design the interface appropriately. There are existing sandboxing solutions which would help here and they don't use them yet.

If they think that will work, they're really silly. Is a ToS change going to stop a corp which can gain millions of dollars and can technically work around the protection in hours? Yeah, nah..

This idea comes around every few months, but nobody can document it in tests (apart from the actually broken services that get fixed in a couple of days). Have you got repeatable cases where it can be shown?
