You can do this: https://gist.github.com/jprendes/64d2625912d6b67383c02422727... (one of the solutions, there's a few better approaches)

All logic, all state management, all per-device state machines, all command parsing and translation, all data queues, etc. Look at the examples people posted in other comments.

The amount of unsafe is pretty small and limited to where the interfacing with io or relevant stuff is actually happening. For example (random selection) https://lkml.org/lkml/2023/3/7/764 has a few unsa

And it doesn't have to even be code that compiles, unless it's about the language design and it really really matters for that presentation. You can yadda yadda whatever you want. Syntax doesn't exist anymore, just use greyed

What do you mean by this? I can't find anything there about modifying the used LLMs and the hosted ones wouldn't be possible to change. Do I misunderstand the convolved part you mentioned?

It can. It's just not needed for my own apps. It would be needed for a public release and I'm just... not interested in that enough. It would cost me time and likely never get enough return.

Very specific training app for guitar with spaced repetition, automated message forwarder (all good ones demand subscription), and something very specific to me.

Same. I hate doing mobile coding, but just in the last few months I AI-coded 3 apps specifically for my needs. They'll never get released publicly, because they'd need polish and features that I don't care about personally. T

The amounts spent there have no practical chance of return in a reasonable timeframe. There's not that many devs that would be actually eliminated.

What would be the reason for their laptop to exist? People on the move get the steamdeck. Others get the GabeCube. Based on the steam hardware stats / graphics cards, there's very little laptop usage. I'm not sure there'

It's such a silly idea that whatever is simulating us would be in any way similar or care about what's possible in our universe. It's like a game of life glider thinking it can't be simulated because someone would have t

No need for patching you can disable specific ranges on Linux using the memmap kernel parameter. It's often used for that purpose.

Yeah, it works great for porting as well. I tried it on the assembler sources of Prince of Persia for Apple ii and went from nothing to basics being playable (with a few bugs but still) on modern Mac with SDL graphics within a day.

One thing I don't annoying in really old sources is that sometimes you can't go function by function, because the code will occasionally just use a random register to pass results. Passing the whole file works better at that point

It makes cheating harder and the timeline to a cheat product gets longer than the iteration speed of anticheat. Kind of like fancy locks don't prevent break ins, just take longer to pick and require more specialised tools.
