Pick up a project based on your area of interest. Learn by getting your hands dirty. This will be interesting and hence you will definitely focus more. Also in the long run such projects will help in your startup path.

Going deep in Algorithms and Data structures, Solve as many problems as possible from books, sites like TopCoder, SPOJ, Euler, etc. Probably I would achieve a good rank in a Google code jam by I am 25 years again :)

I believe that if you are real good with your concepts - Algorithms, Data structures, OOP concepts, etc. there is no reason to worry about the technology. The job remains the same- giving right set of instructions to process the data. Moreo
