Just to counterbalance and give some hope: projects like CLASP (CL on LLVM) got university funds to development it (and the ecosystem on the way: LSP library,…). https://github.com/clasp-developers/clasp CL is still ad

In [Successful Lisp, how to understand and use CL]( http://www.communitypicks.com/r/lisp/s/17592186045679-succes... ) there is a chapter on debugging. Book's site, free dl: https://successful-li

Karax is very promising to me. The Nim forum was re-built with it recently: https://github.com/nim-lang/nimforum However, it has no totally no documentation, and seems super alpha.

How so ? In CL you can build an executable. ( https://lispcookbook.github.io/cl-cookbook/scripting.html#bu... ) It's large-ish (because it ships an interpreter, a debugger that we can access from outside, etc), but

I disagree. As Lisp is more moldable you can get to your point more easily, in a clear manner that is not obfuscated by the language limitations, syntax and constructs, and it's easier to refactor (you have less code to refactor). Like

Don't google it, go to the definition of the function at point (M-. in Slime), or ask the Lisp where this stuff comes from (symbol-package and all). > a terrible experience for beginers. Start with your own stuff ;)

It's a nice tutorial but not a download-and-run app like Portacle is. And it messes up with our config: > Delete ~/.emacs or ~/.emacs.d if they exist.

Then you have Portacle ! Emacs isn't the only editor too: https://lispcookbook.github.io/cl-cookbook/editor-support.ht... Lem is also a ready-to-use editor (ncurses or Electron)(but Emacs+Slime is still the best e

A portable Spacemacs built with Portacle would be another great step. AFAIK Portacle is ready to be configured, it just needs to be done.

I've been exploring CL lately. - IMO the documentation state is not great, but it's being worked on. (it's said to be non-existent for Haskell :p ) CL has many books to learn from (CL recipes of 2015 being the more interestin
