The smart contract has a method called updateState that allows a privileged address to update the brackets. That’s essentially an Oracle. Aside: in the future where smart contracts are broadly usable, there needs to be some way (even centra

I have essentially no real knowledge about this topic, but I suppose some progress has been made by tightening the bounds for this constant? Can somebody with more info chime in--- is this a huge, groundbreaking amount of progress?

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't mean to be shady (honest)! The main problem is that the EFF doesn't have a publicly disclosed Eth address (they do accept BTC) so I just decided to support them by pledging to donate to them. Of c

The fee does go towards hosting the campaign page. Also GiveHongBao doesn't charge for the deployment of the campaign contract--- that is paid out of my own account, so charging a small nominal fee felt fair to me. I think an interesti

Hi all. The contract that distributes donations also transfers a fixed fee to my account. For instance, see: https://etherscan.io/tx/0xc27a96a1ed705b03604b91287d0e2cf76f... The fee is flat and priced around a buck, mos

OP here. I started this project a few months ago, around early October. I wrote the meat of the solidity contract in a weekend or so, but the hardest part (of course) was writing all of the UI. That took another few weeks of intermittent ni

Given that it took many minutes to generate the DAG, I'm wondering if your machine is a bit underpowered. You can make mining much easier by adjusting the difficulty parameter here (lower means faster mining): https://github

The latest deep learning models are indeed quite large. For comparison, Inception clocks in at "only" 5M parameters, itself a 12x reduction over AlexNet (60M) and VGGNet (180M)! (source: https://arxiv.org/abs

The explanation is really pretty innocuous. We had an unaccounted-for edge case that cached paulphusion.de's pages under our root domain, posterous.com. Like many software bugs, it was an edge case that we didn't foresee, but that happened
