Tried using it on a Nexus 7, some frustrating issues with UI because it aligns off to the right instead of taking up the full screen, and some elements are off the page so not clickable. Might want to try it on different tablets? Looks real

That makes a lot more sense. I realized my mistake after going back to the site and noticing that guests are charged a fee as well. It's still pretty crazy on a rev multiple basis but the company's growth is ridiculous as well. Thanks for t

but it's not really earnings is it? that's 20x revenue, so even with really good margins that would be at least double. You're right that amazon's P/E is insanely high, but on a revenue basis they trade at 1.5-2.0x. I guess with the kind of

yeah, was confused by that part a bit, since their website mentions 3%. perhaps that's just the listing fee vs. how much they make for each night someone stays at a listing...

Can I ask what the $4 in profit and 30M nights/ year to justify $2B valuation are based on? Just wondering if maybe my math/ view on it is wrong... Looks like they charge a 3% fee meaning a night @ $100 would bring in $3 of revenue (not pro

Just a quick question about the A/B test you ran: It looks like the structure of the signup page changed as well as the background. Don't you feel taht could've affected your results? I have little experience with A/B testing myself but hav

I see them less as an equivalent to yelp and more as a way of providing instant feedback to business owners. It seems more a feedback system than a review site. I haven't had the chance to try it out though so this is based purely on what I

Very insightful and inspiring look at the process of smaller scale design and manufacturing. Looking forward to a similar write-up for the Cosmonaut, another project they have up on kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/danprovo

A couple of friends and I decided to build it over the past couple of weeks, working on it off and on during nights and weekends. It was primarily to go through the process of setting something like this up and to play around with the idea

I was disappointed by that as well. They mention in their other video that it retains the optimal temperature for twice the amount of time. It would have been great to see them show that in the video. Hopefully they'll do so in a follow-up.

I used to love playing Blockles on OMGPOP. I doubt the name is the only factor in Tetris choosing to shut it down though since Blockles didn't use Tetris anywhere.

It's frustrating to see comments being made about the quality of conversation by people who haven't read the article they're commenting on. The points mentioned refer to the program, not hacker news.

Hmm, interesting. I called in and they asked me to confirm the address but never repeated the actual listed address. Guess it depends on who's on the other end.

I don't think they say the address right away when you ask for it. Fairly certain they ask you to confirm your name and the address that's meant to be on the package and mention if it is the same or not. Regardless, this certainly raises a
