The reductionist reply to this is that the employment offer didn't meet your friend's threshold for "pays enough". Theoretically, if they offered your friend $1,000,000 USD per year, he would have accepted the job. The e

I lived in Hickory Hills for a while as a kid. We'd ride our bikes all the way out to Red Gate on a Saturday morning. No super powers here either.

I think it's just me, but I find 99% of the original content shows on Netflix to be unwatchable. There is some combination of writing/acting/cinematic style that simply doesn't appeal to me.

But hasn't this always been the evolution of warfare? Once upon a time you had to look your enemy in the eye to fight them (sword, axe, fist, etc). And then someone invented the longbow and suddenly an arrow could silently fly out of a

Normalization of violence has been on-going for 50 years in movies and TV. See someone's head get blown off? PG-13. See some boobs? R. See full frontal on a woman? NC-17. See full frontal on a man? X.

I drive a 20 year old truck that gets categorically ABYSMAL MPG. The problem is, I only drive it less than 10k miles per year and at the cost of a new vehicle, I doubt I would ever "come out ahead" by replacing it.
