It'll be an interesting fight with Intel's Silvermont Atom, which finally gets out of order execution. Intel claims that dual-core Silvermont chips can outperform quad-core ARM chips by a factor of 1.6 when power draw is similar.

SipHash is a cryptographic hash function (more accurate a MAC). It's designed like one and behaves like one. SipHash is significant in that it demonstrates that there is no reason to use a non-cryptographic hashing function for general

It's been done according to http://www.teslamotors.com/forum/forums/cold-weather-dont-ig... There is a supercharger at Folsom, so it's totally feasible. I'm just waiting for a Model X AWD :)

The end-less scroll of feeds in GR is not just a UI feature. It's an incredible/killer data feature that let you go back to the entire history of a feed (since GR start to capture the feed for anybody), even if you just subscribed

I've been procrastinating on migrating, hoping for a last minute change of mind from G :) One of the main reasons I stuck with G is searching of my 200+ feeds over the last 5 years. Looks like none of the alternative services would eve

Quite a few seemingly legit articles from Google results are "stolen" content created by bots and/or cheap copy writers from content SEO companies like Demand Media to generate ad revenue. Internet branding is overrated. Personal network is

The article is content free for people who are actually interested in resource management. I'm curious about the cluster utilization on these Google and Twitter clusters. I know Yahoo clusters had/have embarrassingly low utilization. IFAICT

If you look at your own links, you'll see that these are monocrystalline panels, which are a lot more expensive than the much cheaper polycrystalline panels, which the research targets.

Come on, maven is not that hard. Most modern IDEs have good maven support. It's a lot easier to start a new project with maven template than having to manually set up a project layout, single jar or not.

TRCE is fundamentally different from BD+ in that the the code is served remotely instead of locally. That means that the validation code can be changed per connection with unlimited variations. The only way to deal with TRCE is PSB (Perfect

No Kerberos won't help in this case. Once you have the keytab you can impersonate the client. Kerberos doesn't solve the "trusted client" issue.

Tab group: one process per group. Kill one group kill all the tabs within the group. Make most extensions per group instead of browser wide to improve isolation and security. It's a natural evolution from one process per tab.

I used to be a Mac basher, as my first MBP gave me a lot of trouble (ended with video card recall). Then I got a beefy ThinkPad W520, which gave me even more trouble (random power-offs at least once per week). Now my work laptop is a 16GB R

As I mentioned in another comment, apple do tag "com.apple.quarantine" as an extended attribute on the program folder/zip itself. The download log has nothing to do with the warning dialog.

Nah, the warning comes from the extended attribute on the application folder/zip. It has nothing to do with the log. You can disable the warning by a command line: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine <path_to_your_program>
