Did anyone manage to fork Dive Into HTML5's mercurial repository at hg.diveintohtml5.org recently? I had started translating the book to Spanish and now I'm left stranded!

It might. While this trial was meant to check if this vaccine could help prevent or restrain the infection (a prophylactic), in the same press conference¹ where these results were presented, the authors announced they were about to conduct

Given that the number of ancestors for every one of us grow exponentially with each generation, I think the significance and value of a 'yes' answer to this poll dilutes equally quickly with the number of generations. I mean, it's quite dif

FWIU, this new architecture makes most of 2D acceleration go through the 3D pipeline, saving a lot of overhead from switching between the two current "rings" (BLT for 2D and RENDER for 3D).

Granted, percolation sounds pretty cool, but if the article is referring only to single-server/single-core Solr architectures, then that speed comparison is unfair.

But your argument seems like a straw man to me, as nobody is proposing that dichotomy. As long as renewable energy sources can't stand as a viable substitute in terms of costs (economic, environmental, power per unit land, etc) and can't co

Not to mention the generous amount of non-nuclear catastrophic industrial events that already happen from time to time. Oddly enough, nuclear still has a worse reputation than hidroelectric energy, the chemical industry or coal burning. ht

But that's wrong. Just because this thread is about human safety doesn't mean that a lot (lot, lot) hasn't been written about socioeconomic aspects of the different energy sources.

By some estimates, nuclear would be among the safest energy sources (in deaths by TWh, one of the few honest ways of comparing the risks), even safer than wind and rooftop solar power. http://nextbigfuture.com/2011/03/deaths-per-twh-by-ene

As an owner of a house with a garden, I'm not sure of the advisability of throwing these "seedbombs" into sidewalk cracks or similarly constricted places, as many plants, if left uncontrolled, can turn into pretty destructive suckers.

It's not that sequential access is difficult; it's that random access is much more efficient. But obviously IKEA doesn't want you to be efficient in finding what you're looking for.
