Grand Poo Bear is a great streamer! Barbarous King, the creator of Grand Poo World 1 + 2 released this video montage of other streamers playing his Grand Poo World 2 for the first time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anhKrW

Barb is one of my favorite streamers, it's nice to see him getting a shout out here. And yes, watching him create Grand Poo World 3 has been a ton of fun, I love those streams.

Michel's immutability library immer is also awesome. I loved reading his post[1] about how it worked and digging through the source code. The JS community is lucky to have him and people like him. [1]: https://hackernoon.com

I used to teach Existentialism before leaving academia. As the other comment mentions Kierkegaard's "Either/Or" is worth a read, I also recommend "Fear and Trembling." The other two writers associated with this

In addition to how good Mitch is, he's also one of the nicest people around. I recommend his twitch if you wanna watch him speedrun, these days he's grinding SMB 3 10% with a crazy hammer bros. manipulation.

I love the speedrunning and ROM hacking communities. Speedrunning has become my sports entertainment. And I finally learned Assembly by messing around hacking Super Mario World. All I can say is that I wish I combined my passions for progra

If you have nothing productive to say, don't comment. It really is that simple. And Racket is almost a decade older than Clojure.

Check out the explanation of church numerals and the successor function on the lambda calculus wikipedia. Church numerals are quite beautiful. We use the symbols 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., but there's nothing intrinsic to those symbols that den

How about you don't make it personal, and limit whatever criticism you have to technology. And why not include actual criticism, rather than just stating that you personally are not a fan. Thanks for the pointless comment otherwise.

Another multi-talented developer that comes to mind is the distinguished philosopher John McFarlane. He created pandoc, among some other things. https://johnmacfarlane.net/index.html

"Weekends too go in haze or watching some Netflix." Just don't do that. That might sound flippant but it really is the answer. The most productive people I know simply do not lose weekends to hazes and Netflix binges.

I was in a very dark place for almost all of 2019 and on and off for a few years before that. I dropped out of academia after spending 10 years pursing a career there, my marriage ended in disaster, I fell in and out of bad drug use, I was

Is this really the place to call out individuals? Maybe it is. I don't know. But in today's call-out/shaming culture, I think we'd all be better off if we held back the urge to call people out like this whenever we can.
