Most people are very busy. It helps to remind yourself in these situations that you don't matter (and I mean that respectfully and empathetically). Often it will take my clients 1-2 weeks to come back to me even though they say "t

No, not rude at all. Go for it. The LI system is one of the best ways to facilitate asking for them and collecting them. An extra vote of confidence needed by third parties if you choose people who can genuinely speak to your skills.

I run a professional services firm in Shanghai for global job seekers. My business is about 60% locals, 40% rest of world. Almost 90% of the resumes I see are horrendous, especially from Chinese applying to MNCs. Typically, they are full of

How much longer will the emperor have no clothes and the pols claim something will be done? AGs had their chance when the 2008 financial debacle hit and all of Wall Street was guilty of destroying Main street beyond any reasonable doubt.

I wish there was a fix for this. As a professional resume editor, I hear this all the time after I have delivered the product. I would like to do away with MS Word and screwing with resumes by the evil do'ers. Markdown and LaTex wou

Excellent point on #3. I have heard so many reasons for this. I have no idea how a foreign CEO sleeps at night with all the backroom embezzlement activity I have heard about. Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in inflated P.O.

LI is so strict with its rules and data usage generally. I wish they would fight hard to cut back on the obvious spam. Ruins the experience and makes it harder to sell its use to job seeker clients.

Thank you for perspective. In China, the picture is still used and external headhunters ask for MS Word versions so they can modify job seekers' documents often without them knowing. It's an editors greatest wish for the business
