I definitely have to tinker with macos. For example, the scanner in the mfp in my office stopped working after some system update (this one I never got working again, I just rdp into windows machine now and then copy over the scan). Another

Normal people? Hardly. I would look whether they are located in EU (due to the ECJ ruling) and whether they also sell something other than what is available over MSDN.

The "respectable" resellers do keep paperwork where given license comes from. Just because it is legal to sell them, doesn't mean you cannot be audited what exactly are you selling (once you attract the attention of powerful

Interesting bit, that many people miss: The enteprise windows license is not "standalone", you cannot use it with any device. You may use it only with device, that came with valid OEM or retail license.

It is legal, there's ECJ ruling that software can be resold. It cannot be a breach of contract, if that contract article preventing it would be unlawful. Microsoft of course knows it, they are silent about the issue, preferring fear an

Depends how your Windows was licensed; if you had OEM license with license key that you had to type in (this is usually when Windows license is an option), or if the key was embedded in BIOS (when Windows license is provided and it is not a

Go ahead and try running setup.exe on a mac. Let us know the results, whether you have seen the nice wizard interface. Yes, sometime you have to adjust.

It's not about growing a neckbeard. Sometimes you have to unlearn the habits you picked on one side of the fence. If you took the same attitude towards other platforms, the result would be same.

Yes, you can, though the download will be a tiny bit larger. E.g. currently, Fedora 37 release and updates, for x86_64+aarch64+source is just a bit bellow 700GB.

It's not exaggerating; I cannot remember a single VGA title made after '91 that uses plain mode 0x13. Primary reason being not being able to double buffer. By that time, EGA titles were also practically dead, the notable exception

not at all, almost all games ran in "mode x", which was 320x240, so it had square pixels. It could also double-buffer, unlike the standard mode 0x13.

You probably meant int into windows syscalls. IRQs are hardware-generated interrupts, when hardware demands attention. And the syscall instruction, as the fast int replacement, is not recognized at all in real or vm86 modes. In the end, it

Europe is warmer than North America due to the Gulf Stream, so during winter at the same latitude, it takes less energy to heat the house. Anyway, at such lat, it is not possible to survive winter with only solar; you need additional energy

There is not really an equivalent for what dnsmasq does. I ended up with bind and rfc2136 dynamic updates. Not all devices are capable of doing it, but it is what Active Directory does by default.

yes, but RDNSS is a relatively new option (only since 2007 ;) ), so some implementations ignore it.

Many home devices use dnsmasq as their DHCP server and DNS resolver, and it can optionally use hostnames from the DHCP part of its business during resolving DNS too. The point GP had that it won't work, then DHCPv6 is not used.
