as another datapoint, I don’t think those riddles particularly good; their answers seem nonsensical, or in the case of the first two, even to posses qualities entirely opposite those the riddles require. E: referring to the three in your ed

Do you know anywhere with truly unrestricted speech? The US has the freest speech that I know of (granted it’s also the only model that I’m so familiar with), and even it has plenty of restrictions: https://en.wikipedia.org/

Not all healthcare requires MRI machines, no? Presumably most (not all, I will agree) of the marginal expense is shouldered by situations which make use of the MRI, versus those that could carry on without it (plus another small concession

Yeah, I love their switches but blew three of them in two years which is pretty unacceptable. I’ve used cherries far longer and never had that problem.

Yeah, I hated the ergodox-ez. The flat nature made for lots of awkward stretches, both in the thumb cluster and the middle columns accessible by the index finger. I switched to a kinesis advantage immediately after and have loved it to deat

I liked your comment! To substantiate this comment, I’ll say that words describing themselves are known as autonyms. So you marked out an autonomous comment.

Yeah, but discovery costs resources, and on the margin a new accelerator is a less cost-effective means of producing productive new discoveries, sounds like.

That’s an unfair conclusion. Those examples were pretty specific and I, at least, see no reason to generalize (except maybe the insurance one), except perhaps along the lines of “serving exploitative monopolies is bad”

It’s untrue that natural selection always guides pathogens to be less lethal. This is covered in ch. 64-66 of Quammen’s “Spillover”, which covers a seminal paper by Anderson and May[0] considering the case of myxomatosis. Here’s some salien

keep in mind that that last statement is relative to your education, etc. The haskell model is much more intuitive and productive for me than the weird oo-esque models of “usual” languages like python, c++, and java.
