Android lets you trust certain sources of APKs, where Firefox/Chrome/F-Droid are a source. Once enabled it will trust any APK that comes from that source (and obviously a browser can then download any).

This has been tried though, app.net came and went. I mean if you want those things they exist in some form with Mastodon, Matrix/Element (not sure about the event scheduling).

Yeah, Twilio tried to force that on me as well. Couldn't enable 2FA auth without a phone number and since I'm a digital nomad phone numbers and sim cards are a pain point. Opted just not to use Twilio. It's bizarre because th

Another day, another story about losing access to Google. At what point do we legislate that there has to be a path back for what has essentially become a utility that we can't live without. I know a lot of the comments here are "

You could probably just ask in some way (email maybe) to become unblocked. It's really easy to feel like you're under attack constantly with that many followers so I'm not surprised any of them go heavy on the blocking.

He's not saying you don't need a balance sheet. He's saying looking at one for an early stage startup as an outsider doesn't help him make a decision. I suspect if you asked him he would tell you that particularly as the

He might have meant to scope them but he has a few bugs in his code^H^H^H^Htweet that mean it's completely unscoped. But yes I agree, he's talking early-stage startups. At that stage balance sheets seem like they would be obvious.

This is an often overlooked book. Definitely worth the read.

If you've trained as a mobile developer, this is hard to execute. Apple and to a lesser extent Google control your life if you want to develop iOS/Android Apps.

There are thousands of coffee shops of various calibres, so I'm not even remotely suprised that two people could have different experiences. I definitely had it happen at more than one coffee shop. It definitely wasn't all of them

I just cancelled the subscription on a paid GSuite/Workspace account. The administrator account doesn't go away, and you can select "Cloud Identity" and get some level of user management for free. It will be hard to know

I have heard that reason. It fals apart when you take your own Keep Cup (etc) and it's still a problem. The problem with having an amazing coffee culture is that you end up with a bunch of coffee shops that think they know better than

I've tried switching numerous times over the years and always found myself back at Google eventually. Played with it a today after your comment, and I'll definitely have to give it another go.

I don't know about Russia, but this is not really an accurate perception. US laws tend to protect US Citizens and residents. Even citizens of friendly countries like Australia don't have protection. In some ways it's worse be

There was this thing in Melbourne cafes for a while (and maybe still, I'm not in Melbourne any more), where you would walk in and order your usual from other cafes "a large Flat White" and the barista would go "We only m

I think it varies heavily, most of my customers are in Australia (where Twilio is even more expensive) and it seems to be working fine for them currently. But they're not sending huge volumes, they're also not sending anything mis

In the OPs case it would be less about getting an actual copy of the data, and more about the asking from the legal team (or some other human). The data I was thinking about was logs to help catch the hacker and a record of all the actions

I don't really remember where I discovered the concept of being a digital nomad. After discovering it in 2018, we decided to give it a try. I left an awesome job in Australia and we put the little 1 bedroom apartment we'd renovate

I read that list and thought that if you remove the stuff that they specifically want to censor like 'Tiananmen Square 1989' it's probably a really useful list of things to filter for anti-spam.
