Good idea. There is also FreeBSD Community Resources wiki page - https://wiki.freebsd.org/Community/Resources - which contains links to such blogs and resources.

OpenBSD has its own problems, for example packages for RELEASE are built only once at the release date and never touched later, like in the old FreeBSD days. That lefts OpenBSD users with software containing security holes and bugs. IMHO Op

The FreeBSD Handbook is generally very well written but for parts that change often or that are 'less popular' it could be managed little better.

Thanks for comment. I generally agree with you, that I should now check what is available in the Handbook and submit patches to make it better but I have very unpleasant memory from the past. There was time when VirtualBox was not available

I miss the REAL ThinkPads from 2011 and earlier with REAL ThinkPad 7-row keyboards. The ThinkPad 25 Anniversary Edition is a step in good direction but Lenovo does not plan to introduce more of them. Same with Dell D630 with extended batter

The `xdotool` is available in the https://brew.sh so you can just use the provided `desktop-pause.sh` script with a shortcut which does exactly that - "grabs the active window and sends stop/continue signals to that wi

Thanks. The `nice` (or also `idprio` on FreeBSD) will only lower the priotiry in the queue for CPU time, which means that if nothing else will need CPU it will still get as much CPU time as it wants, thus still eating battery time.
