I always found it interesting that zipper was a trademarked and then genericized name. Mainly b/c it's a verb that accurately describes what the product does.

This makes me so incredibly happy. I've wanted something like this for a long time but it was never important enough to make happen beyond some janky spreadsheets. I'll definitely keep using it and contributing. Nice work!

I highly recommend Slate ( https://github.com/jigish/slate ). It doesn't appear to have some of the features of Moom, but it's quite adept and configurable.

GameStop is a company that had similar tactics. Had to close the registers, process and late trade-ins, and close/clean the store. Then they trusted me to take thousands of dollars to the bank and drop it in the slot. But all of it was

I'm pretty sure that Malcolm Gladwell clarified his position on the 10,000 hour rule during Tim Ferris' podcast [0]. He was saying that the 10,000 hour rule was meant to clearly indicate that becoming successful requires a large s

Any ideas as to why they would've excluded biotech? Would they have dominated the list? What about companies that combine some of these fields (biotech + AI)?

I can't say that I have any links, just personal experience. I've seen the same therapist for 5+ years. He helped me get through my divorce and grow into a much better person. Recently, I've started trying to use him as an ac

You can change the keys on a laptop usually. I'm using a 2013 Macbook Pro and while it's disconcerting to pop the keys off, it can certainly be done.

Gladwell had a chance to reiterate his view on the 10,000 hour rule in (I believe) an episode of the Tim Ferriss podcast. The point he said he was trying to make wasn't that it took some arbitrary number of hours to become good at some

He seemed extremely careful not to let his daughter walk through him. He always made room for her. I wonder if there have been studies done to assess how creepy it might be to have a family member walk right through you...

I'm pissed that Amazon Video doesn't support my TV anymore. That means I can't hookup my laptop to my TV via HDMI. Extremely frustrating.

Similar line of reasoning happens with anesthesiologists versus nurse anesthetists (CRNA). Most anesthesia is administered by a CRNA with a anesthesiologist overseeing most, but there's been pushback b/c it cuts into the salaries
