Personally I'd recommend Ollama, because they have a good model (dockeresque), the APIs are quite more widely supported You can mix models in a single model file, it's a feature I've been experimenting with lately Note: you d

Lift and shift is a cloud migration strategy which involves moving your applications to the cloud with little to no modification. For example, you have an application running on a server in your data-centre, you then deploy a VM in the clou

I'm not sure looking at the dictionary helps your argument since The OED, Collins and the Etymology dictionaries state the meat definition as the primary and some don't even have the more modern variations. Also, shouldn't yo

This decision avoids confusion. To see how ridiculous this sounds try the naming convention in the opposite direction: Meat-based spinach - tastes like the real thing. It's confusing, what am I really eating here?

I took a similar journey. I remember getting slackware on 16 3.5inch floppy disks and being super excited on being able to run an OS that took less memory and being able to build and run polyray faster. Then I moved onto slack from walnut

Custom Cloudwatch metrics are expensive to write to making them useful for coarse grained high level service metrics. If you can afford it go ahead but setting up some other cloud native monitoring service may be the way to go.

They got the developer facing API just right making containers accessible but their promised plugin architecture never did come. There was an arms race between them and the community to lead the story on new functionality. For example flan

They are hard for sure. Docker did make some fundamental mistakes early on, especially on community engagement and open stable APIs. It is a shame since I rooted hard for them in the early days.

The EU has a cap on the work week which you can opt out of, so most businesses 'asked' you to sign a waiver to work at the company. You can't force people not to work, so you'll have some people who will choose to and s

Facebook is a public company and can do whatever it feels right to do as long as its legal. The concentration of power here is worrying. The bias in their corrective action should worry us more, as should the possible extension of these typ

Hate to pile on GoCD. But I second this. In 2015 they were a contender when Jenkins was showing it's age and Gitlab was in its infancy. Development was fairly stagnant and felt 'closed' to external contributions. I was hopefu

I second this. Nomad is a nice middle. Like the post above I've built tools to fill that gap. What I don't understand sometimes is why there aren't many more orchestration tools in the ecosystem. Some tools emerge; work and t

I'm not sure what you're saying here. I can see this being a problem when you have cross-team dependencies and your roll-back requires coordination. Even then it's manageable if your production deployments are version pinned,
