I think this is a fair point but a major part of my complaint. The other day i tried looking up the hours of a hardware store and kept getting unrelated results. Today i tried to check the hours of a bar, and google returned what i thought

I recently switched my homepage to be ddg. Most of the time it’s pure annoyance, returning unrelated results and never giving nice top of page summaries. I really didn’t want it to be this way, but most of the time (I’m pretty sure 2/3

Flex? Just openly sharing debt info that is relevant to the article, meanwhile we have a whole bunch of people previously applauded for openly sharing their salaries, and I’m the one flexing? Thanks for your contribution...it’s not a flex,

I said this below, but just to throw it here anyway: while that's been true up until now, i'm expecting that to change. Using the plane as a bomb has historically required cockpit access, i expect in the future we'll see a si

Yeah, it's certainly a big success to use the plane as a bomb. I'm really just trying to say, and obviously doing a bad job at it, that i don't think access to the cockpit is required to achieve this. So far that hasn't

You mean that one made it to it’s target and the other didn’t? Maybe I’m misunderstanding your point because it doest really feel like a discussion, rather an interview? Like, sure, if that’s success then ok...again I’m just saying i think

While it might just make me feel better about all the times they made me remove my laptop from my bag, or take off my shoes, I would almost rather see them given real skills so they can be a useful part of humanity.

If you’re talking hijacking sure, i still think someone claiming “i have a bomb” will get commands through the door without it ever opening if they’re smart enough about it. The door is a good defence from immediate physical harm for sure,

I'd argue a better deterrent is knowing that there /might/ be an air marshal on the plane AND/OR the unknown security screening done on my checked luggage after it leaves my hands. The TSA are a terrible experience for a

This in my mind doesn't address two key items (unless I somehow missed it?) 1) If you truly care about the business, and it's not just a numbers game, you might have some emotional attachment to the product, and the people working

Hmm ok yeah, that wouldn't be it then. However it's still good to know! I'd love to be able to just disable the remote without taking out the battery or storing it in some faraday cage.

My car was recently “broken into”, it’s a Mercedes C400, i thought it to be fairly secure so my assumption has been that i forgot to lock the car. I just double checked, and the car has an “auto-lock” feature and it is already turned on...s

I think this is a rational question to ask! Often people will jump to conclusions "handoffs cause errors", and while errors are a symptom of handoffs executed poorly, it seems uncommon for people to often ask for improvements to t

I see your point, but i'd love to see a peer reviewed study to back up the claim that "it's better to have over-worked doctors and nurses than to introduce more handoffs".

Super intersting to see people discussing this! As someone that holds a pilots license and talks with a lot of commercial pilots about their jobs, sleep is often a hot topic of discussion. It would be illegal, not just irresponsible, for a
