From what I can tell, if no rule is enforced, about 2-5% of people think it's totally normal to scroll tiktok or instagram at full volume in public. So on a crowded bus you've normally got 1 or 2. Behavior is actually much better

Austin literally had density increases and house prices are down. The original article is literally the example.

Houston has a very high density of delicious food. The traffic is horrible but if there was a big investment into public transit, I think it would be a very nice place to live. - an austinite.

I'm a night owl and daylight time does not make my life hell, kids don't walk to school in the US anymore, and yes, experiencing the daylight for 2 more months of the year is worth it.

Tracking solar time would mean it's equivalently light out at 5AM and at 7PM. Nearly noone is awake at 5AM. Nearly everyone is awake at 7PM. You can wave your arms around and say "well then why don't people wake up earlier&qu

I'd rather have it switch than do permanent standard time. It's not good to end your workday in total darkness if you can avoid it. It's nice to wake up in early darkness and see the sun rise. Best would be permanent daylight

I dug into this for a minute since I am sort of qualified. Only read through code, I have not tried to run it. The mass of it is incredible, but it's a bit hard to tell what is an AI hallucination. Digging in at random, it appears real

Eliminate income tax and replace with flat sales tax is a libertarian-conservative policy goal for some time

Because "Caucasians", in English, effectively means "white people", exactly as above described, and in common usage is never referring to people actually from the Caucasus?

No, I hate standard time, because in winter the sun sets at 4 or 5, when it could set at 5 or 6, i.e. daylight when leaving work. I do not care if the sun is up as I shuffle groggily into the building. I don't think I'm alone.

my understanding is that they can hold you for a couple days without charges for your insubordination but as a citizen they have to let you back into the country or officially arrest you, try to get an actual warrant, etc.

> The phrase "Chinese Mainland" when used in English comes loaded with the suggestion that Taiwan is rightfully part of China — it is an unavoidable implication. I'm really curious - what people did you get this idea from?

US ftth in my experience (att + gfiber) are ONT and router/wap as separate boxes and you are free to byo routerbox but have to use their ONT.

If you have requirements for high performance then the traditional C++ "ownership model" (I would say a better description is "ownership strategy") is definitely "slow". It's pretty "safe" in tha

The Austin train you are talking about is heavy rail. Not to be confused with Austin light rail which is Coming Soon (TM). It's still more reliable than the busses. I think it's pretty fun.

This is correct - it does get easy to read but you are constantly considering the above semantics, often needing to check reference or compiler explorer to confirm. Unless you are many of my coworkers, then you blissfully never think about
