Wow that looks like exactly what I need. We recently moved to GHA and while it is nice in many ways, my main complaint is that unlike our previous (AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline) setup, we can't just pay more to get more powerful ins

No doubt some fat and lazy people appreciate coffee delivery, but I think probably a lot of slim, highly motivated and productive people do as well. (Also, surely, a few serial killers and pedophiles.) Adequate human interaction (modulo the

I do think the ability to do phone calls is waning, though. I've made 4 phone calls this year: to a buddy, to my wife, to an old friend, and to my fax/voicemail provider (JConnect) which decided to terminate voicemail service on t

Also a lot of particulate air pollution is generated inside the home. I bought a few sensors, and was quite astonished how loudly they all complained when I, for instance, fried bacon or cleaned the shower with off-the-shelf cleaning chemic

It's <1% of the viewed web maybe (I don't know that for sure, but let's stipulate). But open content is not 1% of the existing web; there are more than a billion[1] websites, and anybody can make one. You might not eas

Yeah, I cited the white HN craigslist car buyer as a kind of 'it can happen to even us!!' abberation . Probably 99% of civil forfeitures are seized from black/hispanic people. E.g., yes, "those they (police) think they c

I tried not to downvote your comments but "this molecule has existed for 3,000,000,000 years" is completely unrelated to whether it is a hormone — it is a hormone that is emitted by every normal human's pineal gland in the br

That's just the choice Manjaro makes. Manjaro is based on Arch Linux. Arch is one of the most popular and widely-respected distributions, but it is a fairly "you should know what you are doing, and do it yourself" kind of dis

It is interesting to read this thread, as a person who recently switched from macOS to Pop OS. I can't speak to the hardware; I tried to buy a big beefy workstation from them, too, but they don't ship big stuff to Japan, so I comm

Undignified is just a matter of taste, I guess, but it is offensive to me when companies expect (and even 'demand' sometimes, in their press guidelines) you to deviate from standard captialization norms. I have an ipad, but Apple

I think you need to try more screens. I thought the 27" 5Ks were perfect — unlike 4K 27" screens, I could no longer discern the pixels. So why would I need higher res than that? I thought that but I was proven so wrong. Through so

I love System76, and I use and love Pop!_OS (despite the offensive and undignified name). I tried to buy their beefy Thelios desktop with wood paneling (but they don't ship to my country). But... on what planet is a 1080p screen still

You understand correctly what Apple claims is their current policy (which, while probably true, could be changed whenever they want, or whenever they're convinced/compelled to by external forces).
