I also have recipes for my instagrams (and the instagrams of a few friends) to be put in a special folder in my Dropbox. Then (so I don't waste space on my Dropbox) I have a cron that periodically moves them into a local folder on my M

Do you have more info on the con job? It'd be good to know some things to look out for when using AirBnB.

I use tadalist for this (I have my movies list, my books list, my restaurants list, and my travel list there) but I'll admit this looks pretty slick. I'll add it to my apps to try list. ;)

Cool. Where are you getting these deals? I stumbled into Casino Royale a month or two ago and got one of their fun books. The problem was that the only way to cash out was if you got one of the jackpots. So your expected value is > 0, b

On iOS, Apple made it so the app has to get permission to access the phone book. (Interestingly, Google Image search turned up this for a query of "ios address book permission": http://i.stack.imgur.com/MHF0p.jpg ) Did OP give this permiss

So what data is Google Maps using for its predictions then? It's definitely not the same as nextmuni (at least last time I checked), and in fact seems much worse. I had always assumed there was a schedule and that Google was using it.

MUNI buses, except perhaps first thing in the morning, are essentially never on time. You can't go by any published schedule (which I assume is why Google Maps predictions are essentially random numbers)--you have to go by the NextBus real-

Awesome. In that case I amend my statement. I'm surprised the Examiner didn't mention this in their article!

FlightCar (along with Uber, Lyft, etc) has been issued a C&D by SFO airport: http://www.sfexaminer.com/local/transportation/2013/04/sfo-t... Surprised that the article didn't mention this.

Just had to go back and check my receipts. I have express and all my orders were over $35 since January so no bad surprises for me. I wonder what's going to happen with Instacart. Some days I love it. Sometimes it just seems so expensive an

I've been to a couple of these: http://www.projecthomelessconnect.com/ They take place in San Francisco and seem pretty good. Next one is on March 20th.

Nope, I'm wrong. I think actually nytimes has been changing stuff recently, but I just reproduced a case where I was blocked even by emailing myself the link. Pasting the link into Google still works tho.

They should probably update this header: This is where we post about new features on Posterous Spaces. You can get a Posterous Space just like this by emailing post@posterous.com or signing up for a new account.

Nitpick on the NY times stuff: In my experience at least, they do not paywall you for links that come from an email, as the author claims. It's only links that originate from clicking to articles when you are already on the site that count

I was excited about this project when it first came out. But I needed offline access, sharing, and mobile for it to be useful to me. I'll admit I assumed the project died, but glad to hear it's alive and kicking! (And that all my initial co

Not saying you're wrong, but in my experience I only hear this phrase from technical people, and my understanding is they always mean base 10. Which was surprising to me cause in my CS education I was basically taught to forget base 10 and

I saw Alex speak at a Unity meetup in San Francisco on October 17th of this year. He demoed Code Hero, and (I thought) he said it was available for purchase. I thought he came off as passionate about the project. I wasn't convinced that thi

Yeah, I'm a fan of Routesy too. Thanks for the app! Definitely looking forward to seeing what you do for routing...

Question about measuring weekly growth rate: A lot of YC startups are centered around an iPhone app. If it rides up the charts, it will likely get a huge bump in whatever metric you are trying to measure. But the bump's very often temporary

Totally agree. I use Google Maps for "route ideas" if I don't already know. And then switch to Routesy ASAP for the live arrivals.
