Windows 7 isn't Windows Mobile 7, is it? The latter has been a full rewrite, so in many ways, it's completely different from everything else they have. Not that it couldn't be good, just that you cannot automatically think that it is from W

Might be interesting to look at the total salaries instead of just the headcount. I understand Nokia did quite a lot of cheap outsourcing in the last decade.

I'd estimate that 4 hour programming days are feasible as an average. 10-11 hour days means that the guys will be just doing nothing (or worse) more than half of the time.

Perhaps they have an idea on their hands that they project will make them craploads of money. Google TV might be one such product. Perhaps they project that H264 might want a share of that money anyhow it can, so they decided to cut it off

Not surprisingly, functional solutions to problems are often like mathematics solutions. Reading through them takes more time but for those in the know it'll be much more efficient. I can read most procedural programs like I was reading a n

I've had issues with lazy IO that caused awkward behaviour. Identifying the root cause was not trivial, and altogether, laziness gave me no benefit and caused me lots of harm. This is the most important point here: when laziness is useful v

Depends a lot on the need. Haskell has lots of fundamental weaknesses when it comes to long-running real world programs, laziness being the most obvious one.
