Are there any companies whose core source of revenue is transporting people via boat? I'm not referring to cruises or other entertainment-based boats.

All he said was "soon" and that was about a month ago, so it's hard to extract what he actually meant by that. I'm guessing he doesn't want to be the leak for any info. I also asked about the hardware and all he s

Maybe you need to run jenkins under a better/faster filesystem. We use jenkins as well, and our deeply nested directories are deleted in under a tenth of a second. I feel like your complaints are a user problem. I don't have the

I think one of the core differences according to his article is that the "data" for google calendar/contacts/etc are only stored on the cloud. You don't have physical copies of these on your desktop. Apple's

Who the heck just uses mongo as a scaffolding tool? I don't know anyone who does that.

Probably because mongoose is so well written, it feels inferior to use another kind of ORM library. I'm guessing nobody has written something as good as the activerecord library in the ruby world for node.

Still, a square piece of plastic is still more portable than carrying around a 2 liter bottle full of fermenting yeast. I'm not about to strap that to my backpack when I go hiking.

My 40 minutes includes that calculation already. If you plan accordingly, you don't need to wait for the train... just arrive on time. I bike to the station so that I don't need to pay for parking at the station. On a side note

Not to mention the amount of time spent circling city blocks in SF to find parking. I hate myself every time I need to drive to SF and find street parking. I remember spending 30 minutes circling blocks around pacific heights to find stre

You're a hacker, of course you've never heard anyone complain about the option. Mozilla may choose to differ as they probably have data that shows that a significant number of support emails show that disabling javascript was the

I guess one has to balance the time spent in traffic and being crammed with others in public transport. Here in the bay area, one can get stuck on 101 for 2 hours when it would take only 40 minutes via Caltrain. I'm sure quite a few

I think you need to look around again. Prices have increased dramatically over the last two years. I have friends who landed a cheap place in SOMA for $3600. They were the ones who used the word "cheap". If you glance at craig

There are probably many ways to shoot down the balloon, but it's probably out of the technological reach of a farmer. I don't think there's anything off the shelf that could shoot something down from 80,000ft.

I doubt that, otherwise you could argue that Kinko's would be at fault when people pay to make photocopies of copyrighted content in their stores.

You'd probably need a missile to shoot it down. The balloons are probably 80,000ft above ground. I'm not sure if there's anything that can shoot a bullet that high. Maybe a high powered railgun?

I still think the europeans drink more than americans. The germans have an entire week of festivities focused on beer; I don't recall the americans having anything similar. Their drinking age is lower, and you can always find beer/wine di

not true. I took ritalin in high school, and when I took a whole pill, it made me feel like a zombie. I was able to scale back to 1/5th of a pill and still be able to focus. Those pills were already pretty small, so I'd just smash it and

Since nurses & doctors work with so many patients, it's very easy for them to carry someone else's disease to another room with a weaker immune system.

I'm not sure if that makes sense. I think you'll find that most of the time when you do a project, the microcontroller is the component that uses the least amount of power compared with your other parts.

It's weird how marijuana gets grouped with all the hard drugs when it's far less toxic than alcohol, nicotine, or caffeine. You can die with less than 250ml of 200 proof alcohol (about 1 cup), 60mg of nicotine (around 60 cigarettes), or 3

Maybe they need a new measurement like GP100M (gallons used per 100 miles). So for the tesla, that number would be zero, but for the Volt it would be something like 1.7 (first 40 miles is zero, but last 60 would be at 35mpg).

Don't you have that the other way around? If you want profit, you'd want a bunch of healthy people paying you premiums. Critically ill patients are expensive, and if they die, they won't be paying premiums anymore. Auto insurance companie
