Culturally the Japanese are more respectful. When one wears a mask, one is trying to be respectful to others. That would never fly here in the USA where people care more about their personal freedoms. Americans don't like to be told

I think my P100 filters might survive an autoclave. They are the pink disc kind from 3M. Pressure cooking only goes up to 121C @ 15psi, so it isn't as hot as it may seem.

I'm sure death among heroin addicts is common. It's only a matter of time they'll come in contact with a fentanyl laced dose.

Supposedly a single human produce around 300g of carbon per day in the form of carbon dioxide. A tree's dry weight is about 50% carbon, but when the tree is alive, it's probably still 80% water. So I'm approximately guessin

I know people like to imagine of all the orwellian possibilities, but it could have some useful medical cases too. It would be great to put some kind of camera in my grandparent's home to automatically monitor their health. My grandf

It's expensive right now because demand is low. When everyone is buying solar, I'm sure the price will drop even further. This could still happen in parallel with any other clean energy investments as well. There aren't tha

If a plane crashes, the survival rate is pretty low. Most likely everyone on the plane is dead. People get into car accidents often enough to feel that crashing one's car rarely leads to death. Walter probably felt safe enough to us

Their 1Password X is excellent. I've been using it on a chromebook for a few months now. Chromebook does run linux, so it should work for you too. I think it's basically the ideal place for 1Password to be running. It's ha

Well, there are more details to the story that the author omitted. Here's a few from a comment on the article: The article appears to somehow have missed some key pieces of information. I leave it to you to decide whether Mr Klug and

The finance report wouldn't show individual transactions. So if you used the credit card to buy yourself $50 worth of groceries, it's likely to fly under the radar. Hacker Dojo does have the general breakdown of their finances p

Anyone who is aware of the mythical man month should know that throwing more people on a project does not magically speed things up. Tesla probably has a core team that can execute faster if they had less people on the project. The other

Hah, I wish that were true. Supermarkets exist to make money, so they can't stock items that have low demand. If you cook ethnic foods, you'll typically need to visit several stores to buy all the ingredients for your meal.
