Is it just me or is the most incredible part that she survived the impact? I'd be curious to understand how she fell from that high and didn't die from the immediate impact or wounds sustained from that, such as broken limbs that would have

That's right, but FIDE ratings are independent of the person who owns the title of "World Chess Champion". Vishy currently holds that title.

Did you pick Phi Delta Toolbag on purpose, or was it a random name you drummed up? Curious b/c I'm a member of Phi Delta Theta.

I think there's an upper limit to the quality of entrepreneurial mentorship you can give, mostly as a function of (1) the mentors and (2) the mentor-entrepreneur ratio. Right now, YC invests in roughly $20k/company * 60 companies/batch *

There's no flaw here at all. There are plenty of puzzles I have difficulty solving, but when someone shows me a solution, it's usually pretty obvious why it's correct and how it works.

Because verifying an answer is easy, but creating it from scratch is hard. Analogous to this is intuition is that verifying a proof is simpler than coming up with the proof.

I have a residual background in biochemistry from some high school science fair work, and what you described is absolutely amazing to hear! The fact that ATP is made by a "mechanical" force is pretty mind-blowing (although I suppose everyth

It depends on what you're doing. If you're writing java/python/ruby plumbing, sure some practical experience is great. If you're job is to improve PageRank, I'd rather much take the person with a strong theoretical background linear algebra
