You most certainly are confusing O with Theta. O is just an asymptotic upper bound. Of course a function that’s bounded by n lg n is also bounded by n^2.

You're wrong. n lg n grows asymptotically slower than n^2, and is thus is O(n^2). n is also O(n^2), as is 1, or even sin(n). All of this follows directly from the definition [0]. Also the fact that you're plugging numbers in for n

It's a subtle point, but anon946 was pointing out that since your loops are fixed at 1000, this entire thing is O(1) (granted, with a large constant). You should change all of the "1000" to "n". That would make it O

If that were the case, why does practically every company that has engineers also have engineering managers? Are we all just doing it wrong?

Just another example of how evolution selects for/against or doesn't select for/against traits. If onset isn't until your 50s, it's plenty of time to reproduce. Granted there might be reduced fitness because older p

Never is a pretty bad rule. If you want to get ahead in life and advance your career, sometimes working more is the only way to do it. Everyone should decide at the end of the day how much they want to balance work vs. life, but for many

I think he's saying that the valuation would be lower if the liquidation preference were lower. This makes sense since a higher liquidation preference reduces the risk of the investment, thus allowing you to grant a higher valuation.

There are no shortcuts with math. If you really want to learn it, you must be willing to put in a large number of hours over a long period time in order to master it. Are you willing to do that?
